Breakfast ideas: Blend it, drink it


Who wants to be frying up eggs when it’s sizzling outside. Start your day with a healthy smoothie. It’s the perfect summer breakfast.

Banana strawberry smoothie


1 cup banana, sliced

1 cup strawberries, washed and sliced

1 tbsp oatmeal

½ cup yogurt

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth, adding a little water if it’s too thick. Pour into a tall glass and drink right away.

Healthy detox smoothie


1 cup banana, sliced

½ cup pineapple, cubed

½ cup mint leaves, cleaned and washed

½ cup water

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth. Drink up and feel the energy. Note you can substitute spinach leaves for the mint.

Avocado smoothie


1 ripe avocado

1 cup cold milk

1 tbsp. sugar

Cut open the avocado and discard the seed. Scoop out the pulp and put it in a blender with the cold milk and sugar. Puree till smooth and serve immediately.
